The exhibition examines the stories behind the magical unicorn and the wider fairy tale world of fantastic fictional characters.

The exhibition focuses on royal and medieval items featuring an image of a unicorn from the Royal Swedish Armory. Among the rare artifacts are the saddle of King Gustav Vasa of Sweden (1540s), the metal breastplate of King Gustav II Adolf (1620-1621), and the gilded unicorn horn that adorned the king's horse during Charles XI's coronation celebration (1672). The exhibition also includes works from the Swedish History Museum and Estonian museums.
