The unique hilly landscape of Viljandi gives the opportunity to enjoy beautiful views in all seasons. There is a popular walking trail in the Uueveski district, which runs along an illuminated staircase to the Kösti stream and from there, to the swimming pools. On a hot summer day, it is possible to cool off in the pools created by the stream. In snowy winters, the pine forest slopes are a favourite among skiers and sledders. The recreation area, which is not very far from the city centre, is great for a picnic with the family and for spending some alone time, especially when you do not want to drive far from the city.
